Font Type Research

  1. I will be using the Scorched Earth font for my masthead in the italics style. I have selected this font over the others as it is more attractive and shows more of a flare and passion, which will attract attention of potential buyers and be more attractive to the target audience. On the other hand, this font will not be suitable for cover lines and other text. Therefore i will be using the Aquawax font for my cover lines and other basic text on the main cover because it is more eligible and clearer to see. the Aquawax font will be in bold lowercase and the Scorched Earth masthead will be in italics.

  2. Good justification, Aidan. Please pay more attention to the use of capitals in your writing.
    Why italics?

  3. Please explain the use of italics in your masthead and correct the spelling in your post.

  4. In my final cover, i decided against the use of italics for scorched earth because i decided to add a shadow like background which made the masthead (scorched earth font) stand out more. Also, i did not use the aqua wax font as i decided it was too basic and decided to use a font called steelfish. This font looked better with the rest of the cover and was slightly more exciting and suitable to the magazine.
